About Y Ffenics

Cheque For Charity

Our patch - so you'll recognise us!

Y Ffenics was started in February 2005 by a group of like-minded riders & their pillion, & came into being after a group of friends left another MCC in the Swansea area.

The core founding members of the group collectively spearheaded our move forward as a new club, & it was after much discussion we adopted the inital name of Phoenix Riders MCC, which quickly evolved into Y Ffenics (we liked the look of the distinctive Welsh spelling). The reason we chose the Phoenix as our symbol is that we saw ourselves as one entity rising from the ashes of our time with other clubs.

Even though we're a new club, our numbers have grown from the original core of 8 members & we hope that we will gain new members as we get the club's name & reputation known in the appropriate circles. No matter what you ride (scooter, bike or trike) or your level of experience, we welcome all - male & female. We even have learners within the club at present!

Y Ffenics have good relationships with several other bike clubs in the South Wales area, and we regularly rideout & party with them. We also rideout as a club in our own right as often as possible, on runs ranging from a bimble around Gower to long distance hauls to other towns & cities. Rallies & shows are definite favourites with several of our members, & we fully enjoy ourselves at all events we attend. As several members have families, we have taken steps to make our club a family-orientated group & we welcome children to our meetings under their parent's supervision.

Our main aims are to make positive & valued contributions to the local, & wider, community, to promote safe & sensible motorcycling, to involve ourselves in fundraising for charitable causes & to provide a resource for other motorcyclists in our area, & those passing through.

We are a non-political, non-racist & non-backpatch group of motorcycle owners, riders & pillion. We meet on Thursdays at our clubhouse, The Bowens Arms, Skewen, Just off Junction 4 of the M4. from 2000hrs. All visitors are given a warm welcome.

Our motto is If it's not fun, it's not worth it!
